CLAUDE'S AU DOMAIN

[personal profile] godshattering 2024-04-20 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Claude's domain no longer resembles the recreation of Derdriu that's been in the Horizon since his arrival. Instead, what was once canals with the backdrop of the seas is now replaced by a sprawling steppe of green grass and wildflowers along the small hills. It's bordered by a forest running perpendicular along one side of the horizon and mountains parallel along the back which cut a sharp contrast with snowy peaks. As memories ebb and fade the landscape changes slightly and over the years, visitors might be able to see different rivers and streams cut their way through, flocks of wyverns soaring overhead, and wild horses ambling across the fields.

Tucked back near the mountains about halfway up one with a road leading towards it is a structure where Claude can be found while there. It also seems to morph over time from a house, to something closer to a palace, to a sprawling estate, and something that's a mixture of the two. The main part as before is a courtyard blooming with flowers and plants where the front gate is never locked so anyone may enter at any time, and it's accented with walkways, sitting areas, and sunny places to read. The inside contains various features from lives he's lived: from Almyra, from Fodlan, and from Cadens, though he could not specifically point to which came from where once his memory blurs into being nothing but these years lived as gods. Decorating and some of the design also comes from fellow gods he's close with as a bit of inspiration to keep here.

Claude's bedroom (image #4) overlooks that pine forest. The windows open to the cool, shady atmosphere outside and let in a breeze often scented with pine. The shelves are lined with copies of his favorite books, and the ceiling is made of window panes which show the night sky and stars above. The bed is, of course, full of comfortable pillows, blankets, and is oversized - all the better for entertaining lovers. A door leads to Claude's personal bathroom (image #3) blooming with sunflowers and with a tub big enough to be shared.

There are also plenty of guest rooms (image #5) for those who might want their own space to stay with views of the mountains and the sea on the other side of them, steppe, and forest depending on which side of the house they face and private bathrooms (image #9) for their own use, too.

In the common areas, more cozy places to read (image #6) and, (image #7) or relax are scattered around, and there's a small pool with water that's always the perfect temperature for the swimmer one can (image #8) wade in. Though it never snows as that's best left to other mountaintops, a study with a roaring fireplace also awaits (image #10) with a different mountain range view. It's also different mountains, in fact, and ones which might be found in another god's domain as the ones she grew up with.

Finally, a kitchen (image #11) is also present for those who enjoy it - or might like to cook him a meal since Claude certainly never says no to that. If asked, he might say it was added for someone who likes to cook often with the note he's a rather talented cook. Claude himself doesn't often cook in here though there are a handful of recipes he remembers and knows how to make well despite not knowing their history of being dishes he'd grown up with. And in particular, there's one long century where the kitchen goes completely unused - perhaps because who it was made for no longer visits - and is covered in a fine layer of dust.
